Ballerina – Soft pastel drawing

Jul 30 Ballerina – Soft pastel drawing

Ballerinas were the favorite theme of the French impressionist artist, Edgar Degas. If that’s not an accurate statement, at least he’s famous for painting and drawing a lot of them. His works definitely inspired me to try a ballerina. I wanted to get a very fuzzy and soft results, so my choice of medium was soft pastel.

A lot of Edgar Dega’s master pieces are exhibited at Musée d’Orsay in Paris, which I will write about in my Art Trips series.
